“The Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way that you went until you came to this place.”
“I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.”—In his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.—Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, catching them, bearing them on its pinions, the Lord alone guided him.
“Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”—This is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you.—“Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on…. For… your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
“Till now the Lord has helped us.”
— Could these words from the Lord come at a better time? As we end the year and anticipate the new, let’s remember and rejoice that the LORD says I WILL. Our resolve, however much we can muster or motivate ourselves, is not enough. Only HIS WILL is sufficient. Only His Will, His Pleasure, His Plan, Purpose, and Dream made us, bears us, saves us, and carries us and guides us forever. Whatever your resolve, cast it into the Lord – let Him sustain you. Realize you cannot; only He can. and HE WILL.
And, whatever your regret from the past year, or years, cast those on the Lord too. He made you, He bears you, He saves you, He carries you and guides you. He has helped you until now, and He will help you into eternity. He saves you today, and to the uttermost. HE WILL.
In resolve or in regret, do not trust your own flesh to make it or to fix it. Trust only in the Lord alone, lean on Him with all of your might, and walk straight into the new year, walk on His straight path, fixing your eyes on the Kingdom of God, making it all the way to heaven… He’s carrying you all the way. HE WILL.
